5 weeks

This week has been GREAT!! I started walking, by myself, and with friends Yay!! We went to this beautiful park here in Texas and they have a walking path that is 2 miles, Go me! And it's not just a strait path there is some serious hills, pushing a stroller with baby in it up a hill is harder than you think after 4 weeks of birth! It was so nice though to get out and chat with friends. After are walk Emma and I had to go strait home, poor baby was sweating and not too happy about it. On Saturday our church had Super Saturday which is an afternoon full of crafts, good company and yummy treats! I made a super cute Nativity (see below) Always nice to have time to make crafts and talk with great people! Also Saturday our church had our Steak Fry! The church buys everyone Steak or Chicken and people bring there BBQers and we cook them up and the rest of the ward brings sides and deserts! It was so fun, last year we had just moved in so we didn't know anyone so this year was alot more fun, and of course we got to show off our little Emma =]
LOVE IT!
This was before our walk, It's chilly in the am.

Well Miss Emma is now 5 weeks old. Where does the time go! She is getting so big and strong. Her neck muscles are getting really good. Her legs are super strong we can hold her up and she will stand for like 5-8 seconds! She is eating super well now which means happy baby, happy mommy!! She eats about every 3-4 hours. This past week she has had 2 nights were she has slept 7 hours strait at night!!! THANK YOU!!! She has been sleeping in her "my little Sheep swing" well girl friend is almost to long for it now! So I started this morning putting her in her cradle so she will get use to it. I hope it wont take long.
On Saturday night we gave her a bath and after her bath we saw.....
CURLY HAIR!!! Oh how i hope this curly hair stays! Curly hair runs in my family so we are pretty excited!! And it's a tad bit reddish =] I was born with red hair! Fingers crossed!! She LOVES being outside. I sit on out patio with her everyday with her and she just looks around. She is starting to get a few little coos in, which is super cute!! We made it to church on Sunday and she slept the whole time, even when i changed her diaper.
Sunday Best
She still just does not like tummy time, So i thought i should try the boppy...she loves it!
She WAS awake for awhile before i finally took a picture.

p.s. As of today 9/24/12 Emma is 9 pounds 5 ounces and 21 inches
Emma's blessing date is November 4th  ( if anyone was wondering) You are more than welcome to come!!

Have a GREAT WEEK!!!!

One Month Old

I can't believe our little Emma is already a month old! Time sure does fly by. I feel like it was just yesterday my parents were here with us in the hospital.
Her little personality is developing each day, and her looks change all the time. She is still long and has all her hair, her hair is just turning lighter. Speaking of hair....She is learning her motor skills, She has learned to grab her hair but not let go. So Missy screams bloody murder while holding a fist full of hair. We try to help her let go but she has a death grip. This has now happened three times! Poor baby. I can't wait to give her, the first hair cut. and braids. I miss doing hair, thinking i might go back to work like twice a week.

So i try to take pictures everyday well while loading them on the computer i realized most ALL the picture of this week she is sleeping so i hope you enjoy the many ways Emma sleeps....

Fell asleep while watching mom and dad eat
 Fell asleep on changing pad
Fell asleep while watching tv with mom and dad
 This was nap time
 First Sunday at church....fell asleep
This is when we got home <3 Happy Emma
Emma and I finally went to church yesterday, I was so nervous she was just going to cry the whole time. She didn't!! Everyone of course was telling us how cute and beautiful she is. Thank you!!
Here is a video of tummy time, she is not really a fan of it.

3 Weeks

3 week old Emma.

I feel like it gets easier every day. She stays awake longer during the day which is very nice. She is back up to her birth weight and has grown an inch already! Nights are still a bit crazy for us. She sometimes decides to stay awake for 2-3 hours during the night…not fun. We started a routine last night. I know it will take time but I would rather start sooner than later.  First a bath then feeding while dad reads scriptures followed by rocking her. It worked great, but we shall see about the rest of the week.My parents came for a week when Emma was first born and they helped us out so much! When my parents left Jared’s parents came they were here for 2 days, they also helped and last but not least Jared’s sister Dawn came out for 2 days and she helped us also. She is a great cook!! The help was nice but it was nice when it was just our little family together. Thank you all that helped us!! When my dad was here he took some pictures of us, here are a few with some of this past week.

Birth Story.

Emma Jane's birth story....15 hours of labor

On Sunday night around midnight, so I guess Monday morning… i went to the bathroom and my water had broke, later sitting on the pot...i lost my plug. I wasn't for sure if this was really about to happen!! Was my little baby really about to come!! Sure enough we called the hospital just to make sure. They said we could wait it out at home or come to the hospital. So we tried to get some sleep but that just was not happening my contractions were getting the best of me. So we headed off to the hospital about 2 am...Got checked in and called our parents. My parents got up and drove all the way from Arizona!! Lying in the bed all I could think about was how much longer tell she is here! We tried again to sleep tell the contractions were a bit more regular. I was in pain so they gave me some medicine to help, I knew I would be getting the epidural just didn't want it then. Got about an hour of sleep before the nurse came in to tell me I would be getting the epidural in about 15 minutes because the anesthesiology would be in a c-section soon. HOLY FREAK that HURT!!!!!!! But after the fact it was AMAZING. I'm so glad Jared was there to hold my hand the whole time. I am such a baby. After i got that taken care of I got some sleep. No water or food, just ice chips....not fun at all. My contractions were not picking up i was dilated a 2 for about 5 hours so they gave me patocin. Waiting and waiting and some more waiting we did. I stated to feel my contractions, not once did my epidural wear off but TWICE!  I felt my strongest contraction at 94. I have never cried so much in my life nor had so much pain. Holy cow I praise the women who can give birth natural with no drugs. You are my HERO'S!! About 2 pm....I was dilated to a 9, hallelujah. Dr.Z told me i could start to push soon...an hour later I started "practice pushing" My nurse was the best she was so kind and friendly. Jared was there helping the nurse hold my legs during contractions. What a great hubby. Finally after forever of pushing I was able to really push. That was the greatest feeling ever. I could feel the pressure of where she was. After almost 1 ½ hours of pushing my baby girl was born. Jared cut the cord and of course I’m balling my eyes out.  We had some great nurses at our stay at the hospital and thank them all. Jared and I could not be happier. We love her so very much.

Here is a few more pictures of this week....
She has finger toes
First bath. Her cord came off on Monday. She was totally fine tell i put water on her.
Emma had her first Dr. appointment just 2 days after she was born she had a slight case of jaundice. We fixed that very fast! She had to get blood drawn just to make sure everything was good, which it is. So we had an appointment this past week and she still is not back up to her birth weight so we go back to the Dr. on Tuesday. I think she will be back up. She has been eating like a hungry man!!
She eats every 2-3 hours and is sleeping better every night (thank you)
She LOVES car rides, she falls asleep almost the second we put her in the car seat. Well i think that is all for now. I will TRY to keep updating every week...
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Labor day!!
