On Sunday night
around midnight, so I guess Monday morning… i went to the bathroom and my water
had broke, later sitting on the pot...i lost my plug. I wasn't for
sure if this was really about to happen!! Was my little baby really about to
come!! Sure enough we called the hospital just to make sure. They said we could
wait it out at home or come to the hospital. So we tried to get some sleep but
that just was not happening my contractions were getting the best of me. So we
headed off to the hospital about 2 am...Got checked in and called our parents.
My parents got up and drove all the way from Arizona!! Lying in the bed all I
could think about was how much longer tell she is here! We tried
again to sleep tell the contractions were a bit more regular. I was
in pain so they gave me some medicine to help, I knew I would be getting the
epidural just didn't want it then. Got about an hour of sleep before
the nurse came in to tell me I would be getting the epidural in about 15 minutes because the anesthesiology
would be in a c-section soon. HOLY FREAK that HURT!!!!!!! But after the fact it
was AMAZING. I'm so glad Jared was there to hold my hand the whole time. I am
such a baby. After i got that taken care of I got some sleep. No water or food,
just ice chips....not fun at all. My contractions were not picking up
i was dilated a 2 for about 5 hours so they gave me patocin. Waiting
and waiting and some more waiting we did. I stated to feel my contractions, not
once did my epidural wear off but TWICE! I felt my strongest contraction at 94. I have
never cried so much in my life nor had so much pain. Holy cow I praise the
women who can give birth natural with no drugs. You are my HERO'S!! About 2
pm....I was dilated to a 9, hallelujah. Dr.Z told me i could
start to push soon...an hour later I started "practice pushing" My
nurse was the best she was so kind and friendly. Jared was there helping the
nurse hold my legs during contractions. What a great hubby. Finally after
forever of pushing I was able to really push. That was the greatest feeling
ever. I could feel the pressure of where she was. After almost 1 ½ hours of
pushing my baby girl was born. Jared cut the cord and of course I’m balling my
eyes out. We had some great nurses at
our stay at the hospital and thank them all. Jared and I could not be happier. We
love her so very much.
Here is a few more pictures of this week....
She has finger toes
First bath. Her cord came off on Monday. She was totally fine tell i put water on her.
Emma had her first Dr. appointment just 2 days after she was born she had a slight case of jaundice. We fixed that very fast! She had to get blood drawn just to make sure everything was good, which it is. So we had an appointment this past week and she still is not back up to her birth weight so we go back to the Dr. on Tuesday. I think she will be back up. She has been eating like a hungry man!!
She eats every 2-3 hours and is sleeping better every night (thank you)
She LOVES car rides, she falls asleep almost the second we put her in the car seat. Well i think that is all for now. I will TRY to keep updating every week...
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Labor day!!
